There are so many fans of Wonder Woman in the world! Since her first appearance in December of 1941, she has been fighting for justice and winning the hearts of boys, girls, men, and women everywhere!
She is loyal, kind, beautiful, and an warrior inside and out. Wonder Woman's signature red white and blue colors are bold and bright and that’s how Greg paints them! The saturated bold colors emphasize the excitement and adventure that happens in each Wonder Woman story. Whether its comics or the big screen, Wonder Woman is an incredible hero and role model to all.
In this painting, Greg wanted to pay tribute to the old World War II poster designs that were used as Propaganda against the Nazis. The looming, faceless villain in the background emphasizes the fear and terror that the world faced during the War. In opposition to the darkness, Wonder Woman stands as a symbol of hope, freedom, and strength in a time when the world needed it most.
As timeless as the heroine is, so is the statement at the bottom shouting, “Wake up, America!” Greg found this saying while researching propaganda posters dating all the way back to WWI! It was an important phrase at the time of WWI, and equally important during WWII at the time of the Holocaust.
