Ti Nothing has changed! Men appreciate The Skillful Barber (L'Adroit Barbier) lithographed & hand tinted by a noted French artist Louis Leopold Boilly 1761-1845. Boilly was well noted for his era, considered a pioneer in stone lithography methods & a gifted creator of portrait paintings, he did just under 5,000 portraits. This image The Skillful Barber was from his 1823 Collection of Grimaces, a social satire of common folk in grouped portraits, just everyday situations with humored expressions noted in each image. Original was Published by the well regarded Francois-Seraphin Delpech, Paris. This sign pays tribute to a legendary & little known artist.
Each tin sign is designed and made in the United States using 24 gauge American steel and a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable and long lasting finish. A vintaging process is then performed by hand to give these signs an aged look and feel. Each sign is drilled and riveted for easy hanging. All you need is 2 nails and a hammer!
Based on actual barber shop and shoeshine imagery.
