Description:
In the 1980s and 1990s, Greg Hildebrandt illustrated fourteen timeless classics for Unicorn Publishing House. He had a great passion for classic literature and fairy tales, those fourteen books were some of his favorite projects in his entire career. Almost all of his sketches were heavily rendered so he could figure out the exact lighting that he wanted for his finished paintings. In 1986, Greg's version of Pinocchio, featuring his beautiful illustrations, was released to the world. This piece is a preliminary sketch for one of his gorgeous paintings featured in the book, titled "The Great Crab."
