Cirith Ungol

Cirith Ungol, Brothers Hildebrandt
Cirith Ungol

Brothers Hildebrandt
29 X 22.5 inches

Pencil on Paper.
The final sketch for the painting Cirith Ungol. This painting was used for the month of November in the 1977 Tolkien calendar.
Take a look at the painting and notice the slight differences between the final sketch and the painting.

Greg dug into his archives to find the few remaining Tolkien sketches that he owned in 2000 when Spiderwebart began to design the Tolkien art of The Brothers Hildebrandt art book, published by Watson-Guptill. This sketch may have some tears in it, but that in no way takes away from its beauty. The computer image does not do this drawing justice.

Created by Greg Hildebrandt and Tim Hildebrandt
*Over the past 26 years the fragile paper that this sketch was created on has been slightly damaged. This sketch has a few wrinkles, however this does not decrease its value. If you have any questions regarding this please contact the gallery. Thank you.
