This scene illustrates the examination of Lucy by Dr. Van Helsing and Dr. Seward. The daylight from the window falls upon the two doctors but not the unfortunate girl.

The expressions on the two doctor's faces clearly show the vast difference in the knowledge they hold of their enemy - Dracula.
