Description: Greg and Tim Hildebrandt were born in 1939, by the time they were 6, comics were a big part in their life. Superman was of course their guy when they were kids, as all little boys, they wanted to be Superman. They wanted to be faster than a silver bullet and more powerful than a locomotive. In 1998, what they wanted was to paint a graphic novel about Superman. So they teamed up with DC Comics, and DC Comics hired Walt Simonson as the writer, and together Greg, Tim, and Walt created The Last God of Krypton. As with all superheroes, there has to be a villain. Walt chose a female villain for his story, her name was Cythonna, she is a vicious, heartless, nasty tyrant. Greg thoroughly enjoyed posing the model for this character and painting her. Created in 1999. Acrylic on board. Signed by Greg Hildebrandt. |
